Upscale property with a remarkable view of the city of Fez. Quiet rooms. Secure. Better than average buffet breakfast and dinner. Smoke free lounge. Attractive lobby. Very busy. Had to ask the front desk three times to unlock room safe that a previous guest had left locked. Slow internet but free.
Yorks
In a lovely location with great panoramic views from hotel room and a really nice, relaxing terrace bar. Rooms were clean, comfortable en-suite with a quality bed providing for a good night's sleep. The reception was able to provide money exchange for local cuurency. We would have liked to have had tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
Newcastle
Stayed here for one night as part of an organised tour. The Hotel is located only a short distance from the city centre, however, our guide siad it was not a safe area to walk around. The view is spectacular and over looks Fes, the pool area and balcony is nice, however, the service is a bit slow. Rooms are okay, however are getting a bit old. The air-conditioning is set to around 26 degrees & you cannot change it, which is frustrating! Would I stay here again.... maybe

I stayed at this hotel with family. My husband and I have been visiting the hotel for 33 years, since we first got married, but we have never stayed there until now. We used to visit family in Fes and went to the hotel in the evening for a coffee and wonderful view over the medina. This time we stayed in the hotel for a week and it was every bit as wonderful as I thought it would be. Yes, there are some improvements that could be made to decor and fixtures and fittings within the rooms, but the elegance of the hotel, it’s position overlooking the medina and the staff all make it a very special place to stay.Breakfast was good and we had a great start to the day with it. The pool was very welcome in August and the terrace had that wonderful view. Access into the pool could maybe be made a bit more accessible for those of us with mobility problems. Another big plus in August was the air conditioning in the bedrooms - it was quiet and efficient and a welcome relief from the heat outside. Mini fridge in the room was useful for keeping water in. I would love to stay here again and even if we don’t, we will hopefully continue to visit it to enjoy the brilliant views from the medina.
Tel Aviv
We stayed here during an organised tour. The reception area was large with a wonderful veranda with a view over the city. The room size was good. Both breakfast & evening meals provided were varied even for vegetarians.

Hong Kong
After a long bus trip from Chefchaouen to Fes, and a long walking tour through the Medina, checking into this hotel was most welcomed, we fell for a quick nap before dinner, the bed was super comfortable. The view outside the lobby has a grand view of the entire city, and the patio offered comfortable sofa to admire the view with a glass of wine. Totally exhausted after dinner to explore more about this hotel, another early bed time for an early departure.
Johannesburg
Had the pleasure of a meal at the restaurant on the top floor with the amazing view. The food was great and plentiful and the size of the fruit was in proportion to the size of the serving of the dishes. Great tastes and worth the visit.
This is a very fine hoel in the fascinating city of Fes, perched on a hill with a beautiful view of the city.Rooms are comfortable, free wifi and internet. We could see that there was a full buffet breakfast available. There is one important thing people vsiting should know. Fes has a large number of mosques, and therefore at 4 a.m you will be woken by the very loud sound of numerous muzzeins competing to invite you to prayer.
Silver Spring
I stayed here for two nights as part of an organized tour group. The hotel rooms were clean, comfortable, and as expected if a bit on the small side. The thing that really made this hotel special was its location on a hillside with a panoramic view over the old Fez Medina. Sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine, watching the sunset and the lights go on in the old city was worth the price of admission. One night a group of us had a long leisurely dinner on the terrace. The food was fine. Service was very slow but we weren't rushing to be anywhere but there, so it was not a problem. Check in/out was orderly. I would probably stay here again, just for the view.
Bronx
This hotel is known for its wonderful view. Although reality new it has a Nostalgia feel. You are able to exchange your money at the reception desk. The staff is wonderful and the place is clean HOWEVER there is an odor in the hallways and in the room. Note there is 2 irons in the entire hotel. Explore the hotel because there are hidden public rooms. They have a lounge and a pool.
Caterham
We were on a coach tour and upon our arrival check was a complete shambles, several of us were not even on their book in list. Room was adequate an the air con worked. Not impressed with dinner, food was bland and uninteresting. Breakfast was buffet and fairly chaotic and disorganised. Nice terrace overlooking the city.
Weston super Mare
Wanted a quick snack so ordered a club sandwich. Not only did they use white discount supermarket bread but on top of it they burnt is, then turned the slices upside down to hide the burnt side. Pizza was from frozen and overcooked as well. This may be a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location but service and food are terrible.
canada
5-star review nonetheless given the price. Honestly don't know why this hotel doesn't get reviewed higher. Wonderful kind courteous service all around. Having stayed in many riads in Morocco, and most of those having been superb experiences too, I was taken away by this hotel. Double room was more than large and spacious. Breakfast and restaurant/dining area beautiful. The terrace with live music in the evening is prime location for watching the sunset over Fes. This hotel remembers the details that riads don't include. A/c was excellent. Water pressure and hot water in the showers were perfect. There was even a (pay) shoe shine machine. Fine Art collection. A porter for your bags. Room service. The pool and deck were great reprieve from the heat. Walkable (~23 mins) to the Blue Gate. Highly recommended if you want to be pampered and be away from the hectic medina.
Birmingham
For a 5 star hotel, rooms were spacious and comfortable, views towards the city were amazing as location is on a hill. Sunset views were spectacular, and it was relaxing to chill outside. Food (off the menu) was nothing special and overpriced, though, which is why this review is only 4 stars, though breakfast is relatively good. One warning for future travellers - you have to request rooms with a view, I've been told the other side of the hotel doesn't have a view at all.
Barcelona
It was so quiet To take a coffee and spend the Night over there highly recommended for the travleres Whos Will visit fez i like the food and the staff were professionnel and Nice with all the tourists,
Kuala Lumpur
Hotel is located on a slightly higher ground with one side overlooking the Medina of Fes while the other the green valley of Fes.Room is spacious, nice and well lit with big bathroom. The only downside we can’t lock our sliding door and even maintenance was not able to fix it for us.Breakfast wasn’t impressive as there were not much choice to choose from, but the pancake (Moroccon style) was good. One good thing about this hotel is their WiFi, it was super fast and steady. In fact the WiFi was the best so far for us after Casablanca and Chefchaouen.

I normally spend 10-20€ on lodging, so this was a major upgrade for me. I'm getting reimbursed the 73€ (one person, mid-January, with breakfast). The room came with lots of upscale amenities: panoramic city view, 2 double beds, climate control, refrigerator, TV with channels in various languages, shower supplies, guarded parking, big outdoor swimming pool, elaborate breakfast buffet, noon checkout. All are potentially enjoyable although it's far more than I look for in a hotel. If you like this stuff, you'll love Mérinides.
